HUMASFKIPINFO — Pekanbaru, Wednesday, April 15, 2026 — The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Riau, officially opened the 12th Guidance and Counseling Olympiad, which was held in conjunction with an International Guidance and Counseling Seminar. This event was organized as an effort to broaden academic insight, enhance academic competence, and strengthen the role of guidance and counseling in shaping an outstanding generation in the era of digital transformation.
The 12th International Guidance and Counseling Olympiad carried the theme: “Guidance and Counseling as Pillars of Character Formation for the Global Generation in the Era of Digital Transformation.” This theme highlights the crucial role of guidance and counseling as a foundation in developing a global generation that is adaptive, has integrity, and is capable of facing technological advancements.
The event was officially opened by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of FKIP Universitas Riau, Dr. Roza Linda, M.Si., who, in her remarks, expressed appreciation for the organization of this event and hoped that the Olympiad and seminar would serve as a platform for academic collaboration and the enhancement of guidance and counseling services in education.
Also in attendance were the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation, Dr. Ria Novianti, S.Psi., M.Pd., as well as the Coordinator of the Guidance and Counseling Study Program at FKIP Universitas Riau, Dr. Non Syafriafdi, M.Pd., who emphasized the importance of this event as both a learning platform and a means of strengthening the professionalism of future counselors.
