HUMASFKIPINFO – Pekanbaru, August 15, 2026 – The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Universitas Riau held the 2026 FKIP Universitas Riau Postgraduate Public Lecture under the theme “Strengthening Research and Scientific Publication Roadmaps, Academic Integrity in the AI Era, and Strategies for Accelerating Study Completion” on Saturday (August 15, 2026) at Jatra Hotel Pekanbaru. The event was attended by new postgraduate students of FKIP Universitas Riau and FKIP lecturers, with a total of 200 participants.
The event was attended by Dean of FKIP Universitas Riau, Prof. Dr. Jimmi Copriady, M.Si., Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Acting Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Cooperation, and Alumni, Prof. Dr. Roza Linda, M.Si., Vice Dean for General Affairs and Finance, Dr. Mahmud Alpusari, M.Pd., and Chair of the Organizing Committee, Prof. Zetra Hainul Putra, Ph.D. The public lecture featured Prof. Usep Suhud, M.Si., Ph.D. from Universitas Negeri Jakarta as the speaker, with Dr. Ilga Maria, M.Pd. serving as moderator.
The event began with remarks and an official opening by Dean of FKIP Universitas Riau, Prof. Dr. Jimmi Copriady, M.Si. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of utilizing technological developments to support academic productivity, particularly in writing and preparing scholarly works. “With the availability of facilities and the rapid development of technology that can be utilized in writing and preparing scholarly works, postgraduate students of FKIP are expected to develop high-quality publications while maintaining academic integrity,” he stated.
The main session featured a presentation by Prof. Usep Suhud, M.Si., Ph.D., delivered in two sessions. The first session focused on Developing Research Roadmaps and Reputable Publications, discussing ways to strengthen research direction and strategies for producing high-quality and competitive scientific publications.
The second session addressed Academic Integrity and the Use of AI for Educational Research. The discussion highlighted the importance of using artificial intelligence responsibly to support the research process while upholding the principles of integrity, originality, and academic responsibility.
Participants demonstrated strong enthusiasm throughout the event through active engagement in the presentations and discussions. For the new postgraduate students, the public lecture provided an opportunity to gain insights into research planning, scientific publication strategies, the use of AI in research, and the importance of preparing an effective study completion strategy from the outset.
Through the 2026 FKIP Universitas Riau Postgraduate Public Lecture, FKIP Universitas Riau continues to promote a productive, integrity-driven, and technology-adaptive academic culture. The event is expected to serve as an initial step for postgraduate students to develop well-directed research roadmaps, produce high-quality scientific publications, and complete their studies effectively and responsibly.
