HUMASFKIPUNRI INFO - Pekanbaru, September 5, 2025 — The Art Therapy Workshop, held as part of the International Seminar of Islamic Counseling, provided participants with a valuable learning experience. The event was jointly organized by the Guidance and Counseling Study Program (BK FKIP UNRI), Islamic Counseling Guidance Study Program (BKPI FKIP UNRI), ABKIN (Indonesian Guidance and Counseling Association), the School Counseling Association, and the Malaysian National Counseling Teachers Council.

The workshop was officially opened by the Vice Dean I for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Roza Linda, M.Si., who expressed her hopes that the seminar and workshop would bring tangible benefits to the development of counseling and mental health.

The keynote session featured Dr. Norwati Mochtar from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), who shared in-depth insights into the application of art therapy in Islamic counseling. Participants were not only introduced to the theoretical foundations of art therapy but were also equipped with practical skills to use art as a tool in healing and counseling processes.

This seminar served as a platform for knowledge and experience exchange between experts from Indonesia and Malaysia, enriching perspectives in the field of guidance and counseling while strengthening educational ties between the two countries. Through this activity, participants are expected to apply the knowledge gained to foster more inclusive environments and to support community mental well-being.
