HUMASFKIPINFO — Pekanbaru, April 27, 2026 — The Student Association of the English Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Riau successfully organized the Opening Ceremony of the National English Olympiad (NEO) 2026, carrying the theme “Bring the Best and Go Beyond.” The event serves as a platform to develop the competence and achievements of young generations in the field of English.
The theme reflects the spirit of encouraging participants to showcase their best abilities while pushing beyond their limits in facing increasingly competitive global challenges.
In her remarks, the Coordinator of the English Education Study Program, Prof. Dr. Erni, S.Pd., M.Hum., expressed appreciation for the successful organization of the event and emphasized the importance of English proficiency as a key competence in the era of globalization.
“NEO is not only a competition, but also a learning platform that enables participants to continuously develop their skills and potential,” she stated.
The event was officially opened by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Cooperation, and Alumni of FKIP Universitas Riau, Dr. Ria Novianti, S.Psi., M.Pd. In her speech, she highlighted that competitions like NEO play a vital role in shaping adaptive and competitive students who are ready to compete at both national and international levels.
Through the organization of NEO 2026, FKIP Universitas Riau reaffirms its commitment to improving the quality of human resources, particularly in English education, while strengthening the role of students as drivers of innovative and competitive academic activities.
