HUMASFKIPINFO – Pekanbaru, January 21, 2026 — Universitas Riau received an honorary visit from the Consulate General of Japan in Medan. The visit was led by the Consul General of Japan, Mr. Furugori Toru, accompanied by Mr. Furunobu Koichi (Vice Consul) and Andar Beni (Local Staff).
During the visit, Mr. Furugori Toru held discussions with the Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Riau, Prof. Dr. Jimmi Copriady, M.Si., along with lecturers from the Japanese Language Education Study Program at Universitas Riau. The meeting focused on exploring opportunities and strengthening cooperation between Universitas Riau and Japan, particularly in the fields of Japanese language and cultural education.
The Consul General of Japan expressed his appreciation for the high level of enthusiasm shown by teachers and lecturers in Riau Province in teaching Japanese language and culture. Both parties expressed their hope that the existing cooperation and friendship would continue to grow in the long term and bring positive benefits to both countries.
