HUMASFKIPUNRI INFO - On Friday, October 4 2024, the Postgraduate Program at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at the Universitas Riau held a Public Lecture featuring Prof. Dr. Sugiyono, M.Pd, as resource person. This event was held online via the Zoom Meeting platform and was attended by 215 participants consisting of Master's, Doctoral and Doctoral students and lecturers at FKIP, Universitas Riau.
Prof. Dr. Sugiyono, one of the professors from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, is known as the author of the most books in the field of research methods in Indonesia, and this time he presented a very relevant topic regarding "Mix Methods Research". This research method combines qualitative and quantitative approaches, which is increasingly important in today's research world.
The activity began with remarks from Prof. Dr. Suarman, M.Si, as chief executive. He said that this public lecture received great attention from academics with the number of participants reaching more than 200 people.
The event was then officially opened by the Dean of FKIP, Universitas Riau, Prof. Dr. Jimmi Copriady, M.Si, who conveyed the importance of following developments in science, especially in the field of research. "As time goes by, we need to add, deepen, expand and renew knowledge about research," he said. He also hopes that Prof. Dr. Sugiyono can share useful knowledge and experience regarding Mix Methods Research, as an effort to improve the quality of research among FKIP academics.
This public lecture provides an opportunity for participants to deepen their understanding of research methods that are innovative and relevant to the latest scientific developments.
