HUMASFKIPUNRI INFO - On 3-4 December 2024, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Riau held Workshop on Management of Reputable National and International Journals at the Aryaduta Hotel Pekanbaru. This activity aims to increase the capacity of journal managers within FKIP in managing quality, accredited and potentially internationally indexed scientific journals such as Scopus.
The event began with a welcome and official opening by the Dean of FKIP UNRI, Prof. Dr. Jimmi Copriady, M.Si.. The initial session was filled by Prof. Dr. Mubarak, M.Sc., Chair of LPPM Universitas Riau, who explained the regulations for managing scientific journals at Universitas Riau. Furthermore, Prof. They. Meilana Dharma Putra, ST., MSc., PhD., IPM, ASEAN.Eng provides material on journal management, preparation and evaluation of national journal accreditation. In-depth discussions were also held regarding the roadmap towards Scopus indexation, including a simulation of journal accreditation assessment.
On the second day, participants received practical training with a theme Introduction and Management of Open Journal System (OJS) version 3. Source person, Anton Yuliarto, S.Kom., explains the features of OJS 3 and provides direct practical assistance to participants, including editorial management and journal website management using OJS.
This activity involved 59 participants who were journal managers from various departments and study programs at FKIP UNRI. The various journals managed have great potential to improve accreditation and indexation rankings. The event ran smoothly and solemnly, ending with closing on the afternoon of December 4 2024.
It is hoped that this workshop will have a positive impact on developing the quality of scientific journals at FKIP UNRI, both at the national and international levels.
