HUMASFKIPUNRI INFO - The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) University of Riau signed a collaboration with the Malay Traditional Institute (LAM) Riau and the Faculty of Science and Technology, PGRI University, West Sumatra on Tuesday, October 8 2024, at the FKIP, University of Riau. This activity aims to strengthen partnerships in the fields of education, research and cultural preservation.

Dean of FKIP UNRI, Prof. Dr. Jimmi Copriady, M.Si., together with the deputy deans, warmly welcomed the arrival of representatives from both institutions. In his speech, Prof. Jimmi emphasized the importance of cultural integration in modern research. "Current research trends have entered the realm of ethnography or culture. To achieve scientific truth, we need to collaborate with experts who protect and preserve our culture," said Prof. Jimmy. He also emphasized that this collaboration was not only aimed at strengthening partnerships, but also improving the quality of education in the future.

The General Chairperson of the LAM Riau Traditional Meeting Council, Datuk Seri Hari Marjohan Yusuf, in his speech stated the readiness of LAM Riau to support this collaboration. "We are ready to increase this collaboration, not only as a relationship, but also as a means to revive and grow Malay culture," said Datuk Seri Hari.

Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, PGRI University, West Sumatra, Dr. Villia Anggraini, M.Pd., also expressed her appreciation. "This collaboration has started with student exchanges. We hope that research collaboration will be the next step in creating quality education," he said.

The event ended with the signing of the cooperation agreement document and the presentation of a plaque as a symbol of the start of this strategic partnership. This signing event not only strengthens relations between FKIP Riau University, LAM Riau, and PGRI University of West Sumatra, but also opens up great opportunities for further collaboration in the fields of research and education. It is hoped that this collaboration can encourage the development of higher quality and culturally insightful education, as well as becoming a partnership model that can enrich the treasures of Malay culture in the academic world.
