HUMASFKIPUNRI INFO - On Saturday, November 2 2024, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Riau held Classroom Action Research Writing Training (PTK) for PPG Student Teacher Candidates Batch 2 Semester 1 2024, at the M. Diah Building FKIP, Universitas Riau. This training was attended by 283 participants, consisting of students from several study programs such as Economics (108 students), Elementary School Teacher Education (89 students), Physical Education (43 students), Pancasila and Citizenship Education (21 students), History (22 students). students), as well as 53 civil service teachers from PPG FKIP UNRI partner schools.

 

The event began with a report by the Coordinator of the Teacher Professional Education Program (PPG), Dr. Elfis Suanto, M.Sc. In his speech, he conveyed the importance of this training as a medium for developing PTK knowledge and writing skills which would be very useful for participants in pursuing a career as a teacher.

 

Dean of FKIP, Prof. Dr. Jimmi Copriady, M.Si, officially opened the activity and expressed the hope that students, tutors and accompanying lecturers would make the best use of this opportunity to increase research productivity and quality. Prof. Jimmi, who also serves as Chair of the Indonesian Education Undergraduate Association (ISPI) for Riau Province, then gave the first material regarding Classroom Action Research Ideas, which inspired participants to develop creative ideas in PTK.

 

Followed by a presentation from Prof. Dr. Suarman, M.Pd, Professor of FKIP UNRI, who presented material on Classroom Action Research Methodology. This material discusses the methodological steps that need to be considered in compiling a PTK, providing participants with in-depth technical insight.

 

Next, participants took part in a PTK proposal preparation session which was carried out in groups, accompanied by facilitator Dr. Elfis Suanto, M.Si, Eddy Noviana, M.Pd, and Zufriady, M.Pd. This session aims to enable each group consisting of students and civil service teachers to work together in making applicable and relevant proposals to be implemented in their respective schools.

 

It is hoped that this training will encourage the spirit of writing and research among PPG students and strengthen collaboration with tutor teachers, which will be an important asset in improving the quality of education in the future.
