HUMASFKIPUNRI INFO - In an effort to build professional teacher competency, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at the University of Riau held a Work Degree for prospective teachers who are members of the Professional Teacher Program (PPG) Wave 1 Semester 2 of 2024 which was held on Monday (30/09 /2024) at the UNRI Rumbai Campus, Pekanbaru. This activity has the theme "Leadership Project as a Forum for Building Professional Teachers". 

 

In his report, the Teacher Professional Program Coordinator, Dr. Elfis Suanto, M.Si, said that this activity was attended by four fields of study: Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD) with 147 students, Indonesian with 21 students, Mathematics with 40 students, and Physical Education with 22 students. In total there were 23 stands on display, with each group consisting of 8 to 12 students. "There are 23 examining lecturers and 20 tutor teachers who serve as a team of examiners of student work," added Dr. Elfis.

 

This event was officially opened by the Dean of FKIP, Prof. Dr. Jimmi Copriady, M.Si, who in his speech emphasized the importance of this activity in training various teacher competencies, both pedagogical, professional, personal and social. "The work presented will not only be seen from the final result, but also from the process of developing the idea to its implementation. Hopefully prospective teachers can gain valuable experience from this activity," said Prof. Jimmy.

 

After the opening, the activity continued with product presentations at each stand. The examining team, consisting of lecturers and tutors, carried out assessments directly under the supervision of the Dean of FKIP UNRI. Through this activity, it is hoped that prospective teachers will be able to develop leadership skills, innovation and professionalism which will be important provisions in facing the world of education in the future. The works presented not only show creativity and dedication, but also strengthen the belief that this generation of prospective teachers will be able to make a positive contribution to the progress of education in Indonesia.
