Pekanbaru, October 25, 2025 – The History Education Study Program of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at Riau University (UNRI) held a virtual public lecture with the theme "The Civilization of Srivijaya: An Inspiration for the Revival of Education, Economy, and Culture in the Global Era." The event featured Dr. Hudaidah, M.Pd., a lecturer in History Education at the FKIP of Sriwijaya University, as the speaker, and Chandra Perwira Negara, M.Pd., a lecturer in the History Education Study Program at FKIP UNRI, as the moderator.

In his report, the Chief Executive, Dr. Asyrul Fikri, M.Pd., stated that the event was attended virtually via Zoom by over 170 participants from among students, lecturers, and alumni of the History Education Study Programs at Riau University and Sriwijaya University.

 

The event commenced with welcoming remarks by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of FKIP UNRI, Prof. Dr. Roza Linda, M.Si. She expressed her hope that the public lecture would provide new insights into the Srivijaya civilization and its relevance in the current global era.

During the public lecture, Dr. Hudaidah, M.Pd., presented how the Srivijaya civilization significantly influenced the fields of education, economy, and culture, and how those values can serve as an inspiration in facing the challenges of globalization.

This activity aimed to enrich the participants' knowledge of the history of the Srivijaya civilization and to provide inspiration for the development of education and culture in Indonesia.

The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session and is expected to strengthen the relationship among the academic community in the development of historical studies in Indonesia.
