HUMASFKIPUNRI INFO - Bukit Batu, August 29, 2025 — SMAN 1 Bukit Batu hosted the Pekan Penghijauan Goes to School program, part of the broader Pekan Penghijauan initiative aimed at fostering ecological awareness among the younger generation. Carrying the theme “Implementing Environmental-Based Education to Create a Mangrove-Conscious Young Generation,” the event highlighted the vital role of students as the frontline in protecting and preserving coastal ecosystems.
The program featured an environmental seminar delivered by lecturers from the Biology Education Study Program, FKIP Universitas Riau. The seminar emphasized the values of environmental-based education, with a particular focus on the function and role of mangrove ecosystems in maintaining ecological balance. In addition, participants received practical insights on how young people can take concrete action in mangrove conservation efforts.
The event was carried out successfully and received positive responses from both the school and the students. The enthusiasm shown by the students demonstrated a growing awareness of the importance of caring for the environment, particularly mangroves in coastal areas. It is hoped that this program will serve as a strong foundation in shaping an environmentally conscious young generation, ready to become agents of change in mangrove conservation efforts in Bengkalis Regency.
