Pekanbaru, September 9, 2025 — The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Riau (FKIP UNRI), in collaboration with the UNRI Language Center (Unit Pelaksana Akademik Bahasa), launched the IELTS Training for FKIP Lecturers, held from September 9 to October 2, 2025, in Pekanbaru.
The program was officially opened by the Dean of FKIP UNRI, represented by Vice Dean I, Prof. Dr. Roza Linda, M.Si. Also in attendance was Vice Dean III, Dr. Ria Novianti, M.Pd., who expressed strong support for the implementation of the training.
A total of 21 lecturers from nearly all study programs within FKIP UNRI participated in the training. Their diverse presence reflects a shared commitment to improving English proficiency among educators, particularly in preparation for the internationally recognized IELTS (International English Language Testing System) exam.
Through this initiative, FKIP UNRI expects its lecturers to enhance their academic English skills, which will in turn support the quality of the university’s tridharma perguruan tinggi — especially in international publications, research collaborations, and globally oriented teaching.
The one-month intensive training program is facilitated by experienced instructors from the UNRI Language Center. With this strategic collaboration, FKIP UNRI reaffirms its commitment to continuously providing opportunities for faculty development, ensuring lecturers are well-prepared to compete at both national and international levels.
