HUMASFKIPUNRI INFO - Pekanbaru, August 30, 2025 — The Graduate Program of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Riau (FKIP UNRI), held a public lecture with the theme “Research Methods and AI-Based Publication Writing: Modern Methods in the Digital Era.” The session featured national speaker Prof. Dr. Sugiyono, M.Pd., with Prof. Dr. Suarman, M.Pd. serving as moderator.
The event began at 08:45 WIB with the singing of the national anthem Indonesia Raya, a prayer, and a report from the organizing committee. In his report, the committee chair noted that the lecture was attended by 250 new graduate students and FKIP UNRI lecturers, with more than 150 additional participants joining online via Zoom.
The program continued with an address and official opening by the Dean of FKIP UNRI, Prof. Dr. Jimmi Copriady, M.Si. In his remarks, he stated, “We hope this public lecture will be beneficial for all of us in improving both the quality and quantity of our publications, whether in Scopus or Sinta, so that we can have an impact on society in the surrounding cities and regencies.”
Following the opening, a handover ceremony was held, symbolically entrusting the new graduate students of FKIP UNRI to the coordinators of the master’s and doctoral programs.
The event also featured an alumni testimony by Dina Elsa, M.Pd., a cum laude graduate of the Master of Economics Education Program. She shared, “Each of us has potential, and pursuing further studies is a form of commitment and contribution to the world of education through knowledge. I believe every small step we take will make a big impact in the future.”
The highlight of the event was the lecture delivered by Prof. Dr. Sugiyono, M.Pd., who discussed research methodologies and AI-assisted publication writing as modern solutions in the digital era. Participants engaged enthusiastically with his presentation, which was rich with practical and strategic insights for improving the quality of scientific publications.
In the afternoon, the program continued with a publication coaching clinic led by Prof. Sugiyono, offering hands-on guidance on publication strategies in reputable journals.
The event concluded successfully with a strong academic spirit, marking a meaningful beginning for the new graduate students of FKIP UNRI as they embark on their academic journey.
